Detectives from the VIPD’s Criminal Investigation Bureau Monday arrested Callistus Ettienne, aka “Cactus” – and charged him in a home invasion robbery that took place in June.

According to the V.I. Police Department, at 1:42 p.m. Monday detectives located the 24-year-old Ettienne and served him with an arrest warrant signed by a magistrate judge and placed him in custody. Unable to post $250,000 bail, he was remanded to the Golden Grove Adult Correctional facility.

According to the police report, Ettiene was wanted in connection with a home invasion robbery this summer. Police said that as 3:01 p.m. June 24 officers from the Wilbur Francis Command Police Station were dispatched to a reported home invasion in the La Valley area. At the scene, officers were told by an adult male that he, his family and a friend were robbed at gun point while at their residence.

Detectives determined that one of the male suspects was Ettiene and secured the arrest warrant Sept. 7.

On Sept. 13 the police announced that they were looking for Ettiene and warned that he was armed and dangerous. The charges police said the suspect was sought for were first-degree burglary, unauthorized possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence, first-degree robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree robbery, grand larceny, home invasion, unauthorized use of a vehicle, third-degree assault, and discharging or aiming a firearm.
