WMA Announces Another Management Shift

The Waste Management Authority announced Tuesday the name of its new public information officer.

WMA Environmental Education Coordinator Charmin Springer was assigned to the Office of Communications following the resignation of Communications Director Alice Krall.

Krall said Tuesday she resigned her post and a statement would follow shortly. In the news release, WMA officials said Krall “was no longer with” the agency.

The former WMA spokeswoman brings to four the number of top officials leaving since mid-February. Solid Waste Manager Vincent Ebbesen left his post around Feb. 14.

Chief Financial Officer Deandre Atwell tendered her resignation a week later and WMA Executive Director Roger Merritt III left as of Feb. 27.

Interim Executive Director Tawana Albany-Nicholas told a federal judge she was appointed as agency chief Feb. 28.

Springer can be reached at 340-513-4171 or by email at communications@viwma.org
