A woman was stabbed multiple times Monday and was treated at the Schneider Regional Medical Center for her injuries, the V.I. Police Department reported.
According to the VIPD, officers were dispatched Monday to the SRMC after receiving a report of a woman having been attacked. At the hospital the victim – whose name was not released by police – told them she had been in the area of Mahogany Estate when a second woman stabbed her with a knife multiple times. She was treated for lacerations to her right hand, left hand, left upper arm and later released after treatment.
Later that day, detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau met with Judith Michael. The police report said that after reading her her rights, they took a statement from Michael and then placed her under arrest, charging her with third-degree assault. She was booked, processed and turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending her advice of rights hearing.
Police urged anyone with information about the case to contact the VIPD at 340-774-2211, the 911 emergency call center, or the anonymous top service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.
