Police ID Victim of Tuesday Hit-and-Run

The V.I. Police Department on Wednesday released the name of the victim in a Tuesday hit-and-run accident that left a woman dead.

Next of kin identified the victim as 54-year-old Mary Rivera.

Rivera was killed at about 12:07 a.m. Tuesday when struck by a vehicle on Weymouth Rhymer Highway in the area of the Prophecy Church, the VIPD reported. She died on the scene and the vehicle left prior to the arrival of the police.

Police urged anyone with information to call the Traffic Investigation Bureau at 340-774-2211 or the 911 emergency call center.
