Human Services Receives Hot Food Waiver Extension

V.I. Department of Human Services

The Virgin Islands Department of Human Services (DHS) recently received approval from the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) on its request for an extension of the hot food waiver.  The department has previously received two waiver extensions on hot food pertaining to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) since hurricanes Irma and Maria.

To continue to address the nutrition needs of Virgin Islanders, DHS further informs the public that hot meals may continue to be purchased with Electronic Benefit Transfer cards until Feb. 12, 2018.
