Power Outage Alert: STT-STJ Xmas Service Interruption

Even as more and more of St. Thomas and St. John are seeing electricity, a generator tripped Christmas night around 9 p.m. and another one Tuesday morning at 6:20.

Around 9 p.m. Monday, one of the major generating units tripped offline, cutting power to seven feeders affecting St.Thomas, St. John and Water Island. Power was restored by midnight.

Then Tuesday morning, around 6:20 a.m. another unit tripped offline, affecting five feeders on St. Thomas and St. John.

Crews are working to increase generating capacity and restore power to all the feeders Tuesday morning.
