Woman Reports Armed Robbery After Leaving Night Club

A woman reported early Thursday morning that she and five friends had been robbed at gunpoint after leaving a Frenchtown nightclubs, the V.I. Police Department reported.

The woman said the robbers fired shots, then left the area on foot.

According to the VIPD, the 911 center received the call at 3:15 a.m. Thursday.

The woman told police the robbers took an undetermined amount of cash from their wallets. One of the victims was struck by a gun butt during the robbery and was taken to the Schneider Regional Medical Center. The victim, a male, was treated for a laceration to the back of his head that took three stitches to close, and he was released.

Police urged anyone with information about the incident to contact the VIPD at 340-774-2211, the Criminal Investigation Bureau 340-714-9801, the 911 emergency call center, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.
