While the work is in progress on Coki Point Road, motorists in the area are advised to use extreme caution and to observe traffic directions for the safety of the crews and the public.

The judiciary, University of the Virgin Islands and hospitals were addressed in separate bills. UVI is budgeted at $33.8 million, up $2 million from FY 2017. Separate legislation is expected to appropriate $3 million to pay for free tuition for a majority of its students, up to 1,700 out of a student body of 2,500. The university normally receives about $14 million per year in tuition and would forego most of that if it waives tuition for more than half its student body. ... See MoreSee Less
Will the reporter explain what it means when it says the university will lose 14 million if it waived tuition for more than half of its students. I don’t think they are waiving tuition, it’s just not coming directly from the student.
My understanding is that students fill out FASFA and if they qualify will get financial assistance through grants, as they always did, and then the free tuition program will cover the rest via a pot made up of 3 million from government and the university’s endowment.
