A man was stabbed Thursday in the Hawk Hill area when he attempted to break up a fight between a friend and a business partner, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to police, officers were dispatched about noon Thursday to the reported attack. The victim, whose name was not released by police, told officers he had been in the Hawk Hill area when the argument took place. He said he stepped in to try to separate the two when his business partner took a knife from his pocket and cut him on his forearm.

The business partner then immediately fled the area. The victim was transported to the Roy Lester Schneider Medical Center emergency room for treatment.

Police urged anyone with information about the crime, or any crime, to contact the VIPD at 340-774-2211 or 911, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.
