V.I. Carnival Committee Announces 65th Anniversary Theme

The Virgin Islands Carnival Committee (VICC) announces the 2017 V.I. Carnival theme: “A Centennial Commemoration for our 65th Carnival Celebration.” The winning entry was submitted by Clement “Cain” Magras, and it clearly recognizes what will be a grand celebration of the Virgin Islands’ largest cultural event.

The theme also acknowledges that while Virgin Islanders will celebrate Carnival’s 65th Anniversary, the territory will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the transfer from Danish to American citizenship.

For his winning entry, Magras will receive a Carnival 2017 season pass to all committee sponsored events. His winning theme will be used at all VICC events and will be posted, along with his name, in the Carnival booklet.

VICC congratulates Magras and thanks all those who submitted suggestions for the 2017 Carnival theme.

For information about V.I. Carnival 2017, contact the Carnival Committee office at 776-3112.
