Shots Fired at Vehicle Near Stadium

Several bullets struck the windshield, windows and body of a vehicle driving in the area of Lionel Roberts Stadium Wednesday, sending two individuals to Schneider Regional Medical Center to be treated for glass splinters in their hands.

At approximately 11 p.m., police officers traveled to the hospital where the two assault victims that they did not see where the shots came from or who fired them. Both victims were released from the hospital after being treated.

Forensic detectives and crime scene technicians took photographs and processed damage to the vehicle.

This case is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Bureau. Police urged anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the bureau at 340-774-2211 ext. 5617 or 5554. They also can call 911, the anonymous tip service Crime Stoppers VI at 1-800-222-8477, the Police Commissioner’s Office at 340-715-5506 or the St. Thomas-St. John Chief’s Office as 340-715-5548.
