The body of an unidentified man was found Wednesday morning in Nadir and police are seeking the public’s help in identifying him.
According to the V.I. Police Department, the 911 emergency call center received a report at 8:43 a.m. Wednesday that a body had been discovered in the waters of the lagoon in Nadir.
Officers responding to the scene located the body of a black male with braids, entwined in the mangrove. Personnel with the Department of Planning and Natural Resources were contacted and, along with officers and detectives, removed the body and transported it to the Schneider Regional Medical Center.
The deceased had no identification and the case has been listed as Dead on Arrival pending the results of an autopsy.
