The V.I. Police Department on Tuesday arrested 23-year-old Jibri Roberts and charged him with the Oct. 24 murder of Rajkumarie Hendrickson at the Jala Jala Nightclub.
According to the police, the 911 emergency call center notified officers at roughly 4:15 a.m. Oct. 24 that shots had been fired in the area of the club on Kronprindsens Gade. Responding officers discovered an unresponsive female who had sustained numerous gunshot injuries.
According to the preliminary investigation, the victim had been speaking with two men when an unknown individual operating a Jeep drove up to the trio and began firing shots in their direction. Hendrickson was shot where she was standing.
Roberts was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault, four counts of use of a dangerous weapon during the commission of a crime of violence and reckless endangerment. Unable to post bail set at $1 million, Roberts was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections, pending his advise of rights hearing.
