Cheatham Faces Additional Charge

Malik Cheatham, 64, who was arrested Nov. 26 on three charges was handed an additional charge of grand larceny Thursday, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to police, Cheatham now faces a total of three counts of grand larceny and one destruction of property charge.

Cheatham was arrested after being identified as the suspect in security video in three separate incidents. He has been in the custody of the Bureau of Corrections since his Nov. 26 arrest.

The new charge came after he was identified as the individual caught via video surveillance removing several pairs of sunglasses from the Billabong Store without paying on Sept. 9, according to police.
