Police Investigate Motel Room Assault

Police on St. Thomas are investigating a reported assault that took place Thursday morning at the former Mitchell Motel, the V.I. Police Department reported.

At 6:51 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Schneider Regional Medical Center in response to a report of a woman being treated for lacerations sustained during an assault that occurred in the former Mitchell Motel. Officers met with the victim, who said an unknown man entered her motel room and began stabbing her with an unknown sharp object.

She was admitted for further treatment.

The matter is being looked into by the Criminal Investigation Bureau. Police urged anyone with information to contact the bureau at 340-714-9807 ext. 5556, by calling 911 or contacting the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.crimestoppersusvi.org.
