U.S. Customs and Border Protection field operations officers apprehended a man wanted in Florida on Thursday at the Cyril E. King Airport.

Gregory Fahie, 40, a U.S. citizen, presented himself for inspection on St. Thomas attempting to travel to Puerto Rico. CBP inspection revealed that Fahie is the subject of a felony warrant.

According to a news release from the CBP, Fahie is wanted by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in Tampa, Florida for a sex offender registration violation.

“We are proud of our officers’ continuing vigilance and their commitment to keeping communities safe throughout the United States,” USVI Area Port Director Louis Harrigan said.

After warrant verification, Fahie was taken into custody by the V.I. Police Department.
