Woman Arrested in Stabbing Incident

V.I. Police arrested Sikizi Casimir, a-24-year-old Bovoni resident, in a stabbing incident that occurred early Saturday morning.

According to the VIPD, units from the V.I. Police Department’s Mariel C. Newton Command at about 3:46 a.m. Saturday responded to the call of a stabbing incident in Bovoni. The officers made contact with the victim, who said she had been in a physical altercation with the subject, Casimir.

The victim said that during the altercation, Casimir had struck her with something sharp to her head. After they were separated, the victim felt blood running down her face. The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim had sustained a swollen left eye and stab wounds to her neck and shoulder.

Patrol officers arrested Casimir and charged her with third-degree assault. Bail for Casimir was set at $75,000 and she was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending her Advise of Rights Hearing.
