St. Thomas Woman Arrested on Embezzlement Charges

Officers of the Virgin Islands Police Department on Wednesday arrested Bernita Plummer, 38, on a warrant charging her with embezzlement, obtaining money by false pretenses and grand larceny.

According to the police report, Plummer was employed by Southern Rent to Own and failed to make 28 daily deposits totaling $28, 853.67.

Plummer was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections and was later released by the court after placing a $25,000 unsecured bond.
