Government employees are informed that Pay Cycle 15, which was scheduled to be paid on Thursday, May 1, will instead be paid on Wednesday, April 30, according to a press release issued on Tuesday by the V.I. Department of Finance.
"This change accommodates the governor’s proclamation granting administrative leave for J’ouvert in the St. Thomas-St. John District on Thursday," Commissioner Angel E. Dawson Jr. said. "Additionally, this change means that a third pay day will fall in the month of April, instead of May. Therefore, many of the usual deductions for employee loans, insurance, etc. will not be taken. This should result in a larger net pay for many of our employees to have a festive Food Fair Day and Carnival celebration."
