Errol Nisbett Charged in 2012 Murder

Errol NisbettPolice on St. Thomas arrested Errol Nisbett Jr. of Estate Contant on Friday and charged him with first-degree murder in the death of 33-year-old Ali M. Yanes of Altona.

Yanes was shot a few minutes before 10 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2012, in front of the Soto Town Mini Mart. Major Crime detectives on St. Thomas continued to investigate the case and arrested Nisbett on a warrant at about 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Police gave no indication why Nibett was suspected or whether the arrest was based on new information.

Nisbett was charged with first-degree murder, second degree murder, first degree assault, unauthorized possession of a firearm, reckless endangerment and other charges. He was held on a $500,000 bail pending his court appearance.
