Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau on St. Thomas on Thursday arrested a man suspected in an armed robbery almost two years ago.
According to the V.I. Police Department, 33-year-old Shawn Freeman was arrested based on a warrant issued by the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands.
Freeman was charged with first-degree robbery, grand larceny, third-degree assault and possession of a dangerous weapon during the commission of a crime of violence.
A woman identified Freeman as the person who stole her jewelry and assaulted her in Oswald Harris Court housing community on Feb. 14, 2012.
Freeman’s bail was set at $25,000 and he was remanded to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections.
