Gordon M. Thomas Dies at 62

Gordon M. Thomas The family of the late Gordon M. Thomas, a.k.a. “Tommy,” is saddened to announce his unexpected passing on Sunday, Sept. 29. He was 62 years old.
He is survived by his daughters: Debra K. and Ana M. Thomas; brothers: Fred (N.Y.), Delroy, Lloyd and Wendell Thomas Sr.; sister, Ramona Rodgers Faoye (N.Y.); sisters-in-law: Velma F. Thomas, Theresa H. Thomas, Bernice Thomas (N.Y.), Christina L.D. Thomas, Glenice W.
Thomas and Loretta H. Thomas (Fla.); uncle, Alphonso Rodgers (St. Thomas); aunts: Kathleen Rodgers (St. Thomas) and Regina Daniel (Penn.); nephews: Fred Jr. (N.Y.), Angus B. (Fla.), Lowell Jr. (N.Y.), Louis (Fla.), Wendell Jr., Akeem (Fla.), Lowell A. D. Thomas, Darius, Owen (Fla.) George and Femi Faoye (N,Y,); and nieces: Adnil Clarke (N.Y.), Sharon Danielson (Ga.), Tiffany Roberts (Ga.), Gail McKee (Texas), J’Ada, Sonya, and Mahalia Thomas, Sonya Thomas (Fla.), Sheena Williams (Texas), Michelle Thomas-Monelle (Texas) and Cherisse M. Hendrickson (Fla.).
He is also survived by great nephews: James Rock Jr., Khalyme Danielson, Richard and Rashawn Roberts, Terrance, Jason, Michael, Matthew, Jahsiah, Amari, Keimani, Amiir Thomas, Darius, Jr. and Owen George Jr.; great nieces: Jelissa Rock Long, Khaliah Danielson, Ebony and Trinell McKee, Linda Clarke, Chervanti, Dasha, Megan, and Kamara Thomas, and Darisse and D’nae George, and Mi’Kayla Monelle; great-great nieces: Liyanna Long and Jahliya Rock; and cousins: Augustina Edwards and family, Sonia S. Henry, Claire Roker and family, Kathleen Matarangas-King and family, Sheryl R. Other survivors include cousins: Mercedes Samuel, Leia Tatt, Wayne Simpson, Malcolm Evans and family, Danley Petersen and family, Earl Williams and family, Norma Edwards and family, and the McBean and Christian families; close friends: Annie Edney Annette Henry, Maria Friday, Denise Mason, Lavern Hodge, Helen Sackey Phillips, Winifred Browne, Clarice Krieger, Leroy Brooks, Wayne Harrison, Albert Meade, Chenell Williams Charles, other members of the CHS Dynamic, Prestigious, Courageous Class of 1973, Saint Croix Cultural Dancers, Saint Patrick’s Choir, New Testament Church of God Church family, Laura Soto, Urylee Burke, Larry Miller, Melvin Christian, Roy Payne, Wayne McIntosh, Crystalia Bastian, State Cmdr. SGM Delores English Edwards, Melissa Brooks, Leona Smith, Stanley Jacobs, Josephine Wiltshire and Jean Prince. Tommy has many other cousins and friends too numerous to mention.
A viewing will take place at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17, at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church in Frederiksted. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
