Couple Tell Police Someone Shot at Them

Two people driving down Melvin Evans Highway on Monday afternoon were fired upon by an unknown assailant, the victims told the V.I. Police Department.

According to the police, the couple were driving at 5:45 p.m. near Sunny Isles when they heard at least three gunshots.

No one was injured. The car’s rear window was shattered, according to police.

The victims said they increased their speed and got out of the area. They were not named in the news release, in compliance with a department policy not to identify victims.
