Army National Guard Pfc. Makia Petersen/St. Thomas
April 3, 2013 (Defense Media Activity) — Army National Guard Pfc. Makia Petersen has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, and physical fitness. She received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.
Petersen is the daughter of Estellita Petersen of St. Thomas.
She is a 2011 graduate of Charlotte Amalie High School, St. Thomas.
Army Pvt. Jahnyah I. Brooks/St. Croix
April 3, 2013 (Defense Media Activity) — Army Pvt. Jahnyah I. Brooks has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values and physical fitness. He received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
Brooks is the son of Elsa Williams of Christiansted.
He is a 2012 graduate of St. Croix Educational Complex High School, Christiansted.

April 3, 2013 (Defense Media Activity) — Army National Guard Pvt. Jamaris E. Carrasco has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values and physical fitness. She received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
Carrasco is the daughter of Marino and Janet Carrasco of La Gorce Circle, Lakeworth, Florida.
She is a 2005 graduate of St. Joseph’s High School, Frederiksted, Virgin Islands. She received a bachelor’s degree in 2008 from St. Leo University, Florida.
Army Pvt. Lashonda M. Creque/St. Thomas
April 3, 2013 (Defense Media Activity) — Army Pvt. Lashonda M. Creque has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values and physical fitness. She received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
Creque is the daughter of Deverell Connor of Bolongo Bay, and the stepdaughter of Albert Connor, both of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
She is a 2009 graduate of Charlotte Amalie High School, St. Thomas.

Grant is the daughter of Iris Crump of Frederiksted.
She is a 2005 graduate of St. Croix Educational Complex, Kingshill.

April 11, 2013 (Defense Media Activity) — Army National Guard Pvt. Richard A. Hunt has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values as well as physical fitness. He received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.
Hunt is the son of Maria Moorehead and Tony Hunt, and stepson of Roy Moorehead, all of St. Thomas.
He is a 2008 graduate of Charlotte Amalie High School, St. Thomas.

April 23, 2013 (Defense Media Activity) — Army National Guard Pvt. Bianca E. Emile has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, and physical fitness. She received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.
Emile is the daughter of Sheba Young, granddaughter of Betty Young, and niece of Monfia Carrillo, all of St. Croix.
She is a 2009 graduate of St. Croix Educational Complex Vocational High School, Christiansted.
Marine Corps Pfc. Bradley S. Antoine/St. Thomas
April 25, 2013 (Fleet Hometown News Center) — Marine Corps Pfc. Bradley S. Antoine, son of Marlene Antoine of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, earned the title of United States Marine after graduating from recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S. C.
For 13 weeks, Antoine stayed committed during some of the world’s most demanding, entry-level military training in order to be transformed from civilian to Marine instilled with pride, discipline and the core values of honor, courage and commitment. Training subjects included close-order drill, marksmanship with an M-16A4 rifle, physical fitness, martial arts, swimming, military history, and customs and courtesies.
.One week prior to graduation, Antoine endured The Crucible, a 54-hour final test of recruits’ minds and bodies. Upon completion, recruits are presented the Marine Corps emblem and called Marines for the first time.
Antoine is a 2011 graduate of Charlotte Amalie High School of St. Thomas, V. I.
