The Virgin Islands Carnival Committee has announced the results for the Carnival 2013 Calypso Monarch Elimination Tent, which was held on Friday, March 22, at the V.I. Taxi Association Building in Contant.
Sixteen hopefuls competed for a shot at capturing the crown from reigning calypso monarch King Kan Fu Plantae. Each performer was judged on seven specific areas: lyrics, melody, clarity, creativity, rendition, originality and presentation. At the end of the night, the judges revealed the top ten qualifiers based on of the total points earned:

• 4 Spade
• 5 Ashanti
• 6 Singing Jackie
• 7 Generic
• 8 Soljah
• 9 Sarrow
• 10 King Paul
