Accident Blocks Traffic At Magens Bay:

A traffic accident Friday afternoon blocked traffic from the top of Magens Bay Road, down into the bay, according to a source at the scene.
Traffic is backed up and vehicles are turning around to go back the other way. An unidentified police officer at the scene said there is "a big accident."
An unnamed witness said a maroon Saturn and a "taxi-van" collided between the top of Magens Bay Road and the turn to Wintberg.
Despite a report of three ambulances, an officer at the scene said there were only minor injuries.
As of 4:45 p.m., traffic remained bottlenecked, with little motion.
V.I. Police Public Information Officer Melody Rames confirmed at 4:45 p.m. that there had been an accident, but had few additional details, saying officers were still busy at the scene.
"The traffic should clear up soon," Rames said. "There was always one lane open, but both lanes should reopen momentarily," she said.
