Man Wounded by Gunshot in Estate Richmond

A man was wounded by at least one gunshot to his back Monday around 4:45 a.m. in the JFK housing community, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to the initial report, a man told police he was on his way to work when he saw a masked man dressed in all black clothing who approached him and began fighting with him. The victim was shot during the struggle and was treated at the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center.

This case is being investigated by detectives of the Criminal Investigation Bureau. Anyone with information about the incident should call detectives at 712-6037 or 712-6077, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers VI, at 1-800-222-TIPS.
