National Park Sites Reopen After Storm

Salt River Bay National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve, and Buck Island Reef National Monument located on St. Croix are once again open as Tropical Storm Isaac has passed the Virgin Islands by. Note that the Visitor Contact Center at Salt River Bay above Columbus Landing will remain closed until the end of hurricane season.
Also, Christiansted National Historic Site located on St. Croix is once again open until further notice as Tropical Storm Isaac has passed by. Saturday, Aug. 25, is the 96th anniversary of the founding of the National Park Service. In observance of Founder’s Day, admission to Christiansted National Historic Site will be free of charge, all day.
