A man was attacked near Coconuts restaurant on Back Street in Charlotte Amalie around 1 a.m. Wednesday. The man told police several persons attacked him and took his wallet, according to a Police Department release.
He told police five males approached him and demanded money. The victim said he fought back and was struck with a crowbar on his head. He was then stabbed several times and robbed of his wallet containing cash and personal documents.
When police arrived on the scene the victim was on the ground near the U.S. Coast Guard dock with at least one stab wound to his hand and other injuries to several parts of his body. The victim refused to provide police with any further information about the robbery and assault.
He was transported to the Roy L. Schneider Hospital for treatment. However, the man refused treatment and left the hospital.
