Haiti Community Support Has Fundraiser at Mount Victory Camp

9th annual Haiti Community Support (HCS) fundraiser party will take place on Sunday, Feb. 26, at Mount Victory Camp, Frederiksted, St. Croix. The proceeds will help to support the Renaissance Elementary School, hot lunch program, health clinic and other village programs in Au Centre Beaumont, Haiti.
The event begins at 2 p.m. There will be a pig roast, Caribbean cookout, a cash bar as well as entertainment by Llewellyn Westerman, and Stanley and the Ten Sleepless Knights. The location is on Creque Dam Road (Rte. 58), 1.5 miles east of Sprat Hall.
As an all-volunteer organization, the HCS bare bones annual budget is only $60,000 to keep the school running and hot lunches coming. That is what it takes to give 225 children a shot at breaking the cycle of poverty. If you cannot make the Feb. 26 fundraiser, please donate today and keep the school open.
For more information or to volunteer, call 244-4792. The Web site is www.haitisupport.org and the e-mail is haitisupport@gmail.com.
