Little League Wins: Angels, Suns, Dodgers

There were three games played in the Elmo Plaskett East Little League on Sunday, with the Angels, the Lil Yankees and the Dodgers coming away with victories at the D.C. Canegata ballpark.

Lil Yankees 15, Suns 9

The Lil Yankees took advantage of seven errors by the Suns to rout them 15-9 in a 7-9 division contest. It was the Lil Yankees with 15 runs on four hits, while the Suns finished with nine runs on two hits with seven miscues. Jalen Messer got the win on the hill for the Lil Yankees. Top batters for the winners were Jose Morales (1 for 1 with a homerun and four RBIs) and Masiah Rosario (2 for 3 with a homerun and two RBIs). For the Suns Anthony Pichardo was 1 for 2.

Dodgers 13, Rangers 3

In the 10-12 division, the Dodgers made quick work of the Rangers by way of the 10-run mercy rule, 13-3. It was the Dodgers all the way with 13 runs on 16 hits and one error, while the Rangers finished with three runs on six hits and four errors.

Dante Molloy pitched the win for the Dodgers. Top batters for the winners were Aldemar Santos (4 for 4 with a homerun and three RBIs), Dionte Brooks (3 for 4 with a homerun and four RBIs), Christian Rasmussen (3 for 4 with two RBIs) and Molloy (2 for 3 with two RBIs). For the Rangers, Jahbryel Flynn was 2 for 3 with one RBI.

Angels 17, Toon Squad 14

In the, 4-6 division, Pee Wee contest, the Angels outlasted Toon Squad, 17-14.
