Budget Marine Wahoo Wind-Up Slated for Nov. 6

The Budget Marine Wahoo Wind-Up, hosted by the Virgin Islands Game Fishing Club (VIGFC), is set for Nov. 6. Catch the largest wahoo over 75 pounds and win $10,000 cash.

In 2005, St. Thomas’ Mike Kuszewski, fishing aboard the Black Pearl, reeled in a whopping 94.1-pound wahoo. This is a tournament record that’s never been beat.
There will be additional cash prizes, unique hand-carved trophies by Spencer Hall, and a chance to win a free entry into the 2012 Annual Bastille Day Kingfish Tournament next July. Registration will start at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, at the VIGFC in Red Hook, St. Thomas. The captain’s meeting will be held at this time, also.
Fishing will kick-off at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6. The weigh-in begins at 2 p.m. at IGY American Yacht Harbor Marina. All boats must be back at the dock to weigh their fish by 4 p.m. An Awards Dinner will take place at the VIGFC on Monday, Nov. 7, starting at 6:30 p.m.
