Detectives on St. Thomas arrested Elroy Rieara, 52, and charged him with third-degree assault for beating a male victim with a piece of wood.
The incident took place Sept. 24 at Vitraco Park Mall. According to a V.I. Police Department news release, the victim’s foot was allegedly broken during the beating, and he had wounds and bruises on his body.
Rieara was arrested at approximately 9 p.m. Monday. His bail was set at $25,000, and he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.
