Police Identify Cane Bay Stabbing Victim

Police continue to investigate the stabbing death of a 50-year-old man who died Thursday night in Estate Cane Bay.

According to Melody Rames, the public information officer of the Virgin Islands Police Department, the victim was walking home from a Cane Bay bar at about 8:30 p.m. when he was stabbed to death.

Police identified the victim as Troy Weiss. It was the 33rd homicide in the territory since the first of the year, the 23rd on St. Croix.

Police said the victim had what appeared to be multiple stab wounds to the front of his body. Emergency medical technicians arrived at the scene and did not detect any vital signs. The man was later pronounced dead the Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital.
