Police on St. Croix arrested John Camacho Wednesday afternoon and charged him in a July shootng incident that left one man injured.
Camacho, 27, was arrested on a warrant issued by V.I. Superior Court Magistrate Jessica Gallivan.
According to police, Camacho and Abdul Pemberton, who was arrested Tuesday on similar charges, aided and abetted each other in assaulting a man and shooting him in his upper body in Estate Tipperary, Christiansted.
Camacho was charged with third-degree assault, carrying or using a dangerous weapon during the commission of a crime of violence; unauthorized possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence; possession of ammunition; failure to report firearms obtained outside or brought into the Virgin Islands; brandishing exhibiting or using a deadly weapon and aiming or discharging a firearm.
Bail for Camacho was set at $150,000 and he was remanded to the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility pending further court action.
