Eauvaine Wilkin, a 23-year-old resident of Harbor View Apartments, was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with threatening two women with a knife at the John F. Kennedy housing community.
According to police, the incident happened in October 2010. One of the victims told police she was in the parking lot when she saw Wilkin. They exchanged a few words and Wilkin got a knife out of her bag and waved it at her, but she was uninjured.
Wilkin also allegedly threatened the victim’s friend with the knife. As another person intervened and grabbed the weapon out of Wilkin’s hand, the suspect kicked the victim’s friend in her stomach.
Wilkin’s arrest at about 9 a.m. Wednesday was based on a warrant issued by V.I. Superior Court Magistrate Miguel Camacho. She was charged with two counts of third degree assault for carrying or using a dangerous weapon; brandishing, exhibiting or using a deadly weapon and disturbance of the peace by fighting.
Bail for Wilkin was set at $25,000 and she was remanded to the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility pending further court action.
