Public school registration in the St. Croix District continues throughout the summer, and parents interested in having their children registered for the 2011-2012 school year are encouraged to take advantage of the summer hours. Registration is being held 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday,at the Office of Pupil Personnel Services located at the Theodora Dunbavin Complex in Estate La Grande Princesse, according to St. Croix Deputy Superintendent of Schools Maria Encarnacion.
Parents are advised that documents required for registration include:
1. Original Birth Certificate
2. Passport (foreign or American) or Resident Card or Naturalization Certificate
3. V.I. Immunization Card with accompanying Health Clearance from the Charles Harwood Clinic
- Social Security Card
- Proof of Physical Address -Official document showing name and street address (i.e.: Driver’s license, WAPA bill)
- Power of Attorney or Court Appointed Guardianship (if student does not reside with parent)
- Final report card from former school must be presented for students entering grads 1 through 9
8. Official transcript from former school must be presented for high school students in grades 9 through 12.
9. Individual Education Plan (IEP) and evaluation data, if applicable.
Note: All documents must be available at registration time in order to process.Parents and guardians are further advised that students will not be registered without the presentation of a V.I. immunization card with attached blue clearance form issued at the immunization clinic at the Charles Harwood Memorial Hospital.Immunization clearance forms are a mandatory requirement of the registration process and no exceptions will be made.
Additionally, the child must be present at registration. Students entering the kindergarten must be five years of age on or before Dec. 31, 2011.
