Annual Kayak for Kids Raises Funds for Queen Louise Home

Annual Kayak for Kids Slated for June 12
The 12th Annual Kayak for Kids will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 12. Registration begins at 9:30 am at Cane Bay and the boats go in the water at 11 am. This annual fundraising event benefits the Queen Louise Home for Children. Participants in the event paddle their kayaks from Cane Bay around Ham’s Bluff and finish at the Fort Frederik Beach. Chase boats will follow the kayakers to ensure the safety of all participants.
Participants will bring their kayaks to Cane Bay for the beginning. At the end, transportation will be provided back to Cane Bay to pick up boat trailers, trucks or other conveyances.
To obtain a registration form, call Lutheran Social Services, 772-4099, ext. 24 or stop by Villa Morales. The entry fee is $50 per person, but all participants are encouraged to solicit sponsorships from friends and families.
For those who do not have a kayak, a limited number of loaned boats will be available; however, these need to be requested in advance of the event.
For more information, call Lutheran Social Services of the Virgin Islands.
