Staff Sgt. Terry John Joins Indianapolis Battalion

The U.S. Army’s Fort Wayne Company and the Kokomo Recruiting Station, located at 1016 S. Reed Road in Kokomo, recently added a staff member.
Staff Sgt. Terry John comes to the Indianapolis Recruiting Battalion from the 21st Theater Sustainment Command Division in Landstuhl, Germany, where he had been serving since 2008 as a mortuary noncommissioned officer in charge (NCOIC). During his military career, John also served as a collection point NCOIC for the 54th Quartermaster Company; a collection point leader for the Joint Task Force, 82nd Airborne Division; a squad leader for the 54th Quartermaster Company; a personnel services NCOIC for the 5th Squadrant, 15th Calvary Regiment and for the 309th Military Intelligence Battalion; an awards clerk for the 30th Medical Brigade; and a personnel service specialist for the 46th Adjutant General Battalion.
John’s military awards include: the Bronze Star Medal, five Army Commendation Medals, three Army Achievement Medals, four Good Conduct Medals, the National Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Superior Unit Award, the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, three NCO Professional Development Ribbons, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Army Service Ribbon and the Sharpshooter Badge.
A native of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, John graduated from The Manor School in 1991. He is married to the former Penny Clintel Gaddis.
