Kareem M. Mulrain, a 19-year-old resident of Estate Tutu, was arrested Saturday and charged with second-degree rape for an incident that happened earlier that day on Linqvist beach.
According to police, Mulrain approached a 48-year-old woman who was sunbathing on the beach and accosted her. They began to struggle, and Mulrain touched her in an inappropriate manner, according to reports.
Police investigation led to the arrest of the suspect at about 4 p.m. the same day. Mulrain was held on a $50,000 bail and remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.
