Saturated Patrol Nets 20 Grams of Marijuana

Officers conducting saturated patrol on St. Croix confiscated at least 20 grams of marijuana Thursday and charged a man with possession, according to a release from the V.I. Police Department.

Addison John-Lewis, 39, was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent distribute. The incident happened on Raymond Pedro Lane in Estate Grove Place near the ballpark.

According to police, officers patrolling the area made a traffic stop for a seatbelt infraction. As police approached the vehicle they smelled a strong odor of marijuana. The driver, identified later as Lewis, admitted he had marijuana in his possession and handed the drugs to the officer.

Lewis, who lives in Estate Williams Delight, was arrested at about 8 p.m. the same day. Bail was set at $10,000 and he was remanded to the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility pending further court action.
