Man Arrested for Unlawful Sexual Contact with Minors

Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives on St. Thomas arrested 38-year-old Avery Smith of Estate Anna’s Retreat Wednesday and charged him with three counts of first-degree unlawful sexual contact.

Smith was also charged with vagrancy and resisting arrest.

According to the initial police reports, Smith inappropriately touched three 10-year-old girls on a school campus in November 2009, and March and December 2010.

Smith’s bail was set $48,000. He was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.
