Crime Stoppers Needs Your Help

Crime Stoppers is asking your help to solve the following crimes. If you know something, say something. Even the smallest bit of information may be just what law enforcement needs to solve these cases.

St. Croix: On Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 9:55 p.m., two armed masked males, wearing black long-sleeved hoodies, entered Coconuts On The Beach in LaGrange, Frederiksted, from the beach. Putting a gun to the head of a female employee, they robbed about $1000 in cash from the restaurant, and about $350 from the patrons. The two then fled through the nearby bush.

St. John: On Sunday, Nov. 7, at about 7:30 p.m. the office of Tropical Shipping at Boyson Inc. was burglarized. The burglars stole a small safe containing $300 cash, some credit cards, and some checks.

St. Thomas: On Wednesday, Nov. 10, at about 9:30 p.m., Andy Roumou of #40 First Avenue in Sugar Estate was shot by an unknown gunman after he parked his car in the garage of his apartment. Roumou died the next morning.

If a tip leads to an arrest or the recovery of stolen property, illegal drugs, or weapons, the tipster receives a cash reward to be paid according to their instructions. The minimum cash reward for the arrest of a burglary suspect is $714 plus 10% of the value of property recovered. For a homicide suspect the minimum reward is $1,500. Only anonymous callers to Crime Stoppers are eligible for these rewards.

Since Crime Stoppers USVI launched in January 2009, your 895 tips have helped law enforcement make 99 arrests, which resulted in the recovery of 66 illegal weapons and over $186,000 worth of cash, property and illegal drugs. If you submitted a tip, please check to see if you are entitled to a reward, as unclaimed rewards expire six months after the award date.
