Parent University Classes Set to Begin

The 2010-2011 Parent University season will kick off at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 12, at the Lockhart Elementary School. Superintendent for the St. Thomas-St. John District Jeanette Smith-Barry said, “It was unfortunate that we could not begin classes as intended, but due to the inclement weather it was in the best interests and safety of our staff and parents to postpone the classes. We are however extremely excited for the start of this year’s series and look forward to serving our parents and students.
“Parents are reminded that classes are being held on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6-8 p.m.
Featured presentations for the upcoming week include: Why Women Stay, Energy Saving Measures To Use in Your Home, Internet Safety, Hands on Reading and Women Empowerment. Transportation, child care and homework assistance is also available.”
