Improvements to the Polyberg Hill, Route 310, will begin, bringing lane closures and traffic detours while the work is in progress, the Department of Public Works announced.
The work will take place from the intersection of Route 314, William G. Lewis Lane west to the intersection of Bjerge Gada (Route 314) and Polyberg Hill, Route 310 near Hospital Ground. It will include sidewalks, drainage, and a reconditioned roadway surface.
Polyberg Hill is the second segment of the Island Wide Pavement Rehabilitation Project that began Dec. 14, 2009, with the work on Brookman Road. The Contractor is Virgin Islands Paving, Inc.
The westbound lane on Route 310, Polyberg Hill, will be closed and detoured beginning Sunday onto William G. Lewis Lane southbound to the intersection of Long Bay Road and deBeltjen Road. Vehicles traveling eastbound on Polyberg Hill, Route 310, will be allowed to proceed through the work zone during the reconstruction of the road.
The detour is expected to be in place for approximately four months. Flagmen will be present to assist with traffic flow and motorists should proceed through the area with caution.
