St. Croix Passport Office Will Be Open on Saturday, Dec. 5

Lieutenant Governor Gregory R. Francis announced that the St. Croix Passport Office at Government House will be open on Saturday, Dec. 5, in order to accommodate residents who are unable to visit the office on weekdays. It will be open from 9 a.m. to noon. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this Saturday opening to apply for or renew their passports, although applicants are not expected to receive their passports in time for holiday travel.

“We are hopeful that residents take advantage of this opportunity to get their passports and be in compliance with travel regulations that went into effect earlier this year,” said Lt. Gov. Francis. State Department regulations require that U.S. citizens entering the United States at sea or land ports of entry must have a passport, passport card or other travel document approved the U.S. Government. Persons traveling by air outside of the U.S. must also have a passport in order to enter or re-enter the country.
In addition to the completed passport application, applicants are also required to provide proof of citizenship and identity, two 2×2 photos and associated fees. Additional requirements apply for minor children. Copies of the passport application are available at the Office of the Lieutenant Governor or online at www.ltg.gov.vi
