Big Turnout for Breast Cancer Run

The run raised money for the St. Thomas-St. John Unit of the American Cancer Society.More than 100 runners and walkers of all ages crowded the Port of Sale Mall on Sunday for the 12th Annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer two-mile run.

The two-lap course ran through Havensite Mall, heading out toward the end of the cruise-ship dock, before returning to the finish line at Port of Sale Mall. Although the women and girls in the crowd outnumbered the male participants by about three to one, there was a strong showing of boys and girls from various schools. The St. Thomas-St. John Unit of the American Cancer Society was the beneficiary of the event.
