One of Territory’s 'Most Wanted' Extradited From Missouri

Stederoy HurstOne of the Virgin Islands most wanted fugitives was returned to the territory from Missouri by detectives of the Criminal Investigation Bureau on St. Thomas.

Stederoy Hurst will face charges of assault in the first degree in a case that occurred Nov. 13, 2008, at Anna’s Market in Anna’s Retreat.

According to the V.I. Police Department, Hurst fired shots at a 26-year-old victim striking, him in the foot.

Concerned citizens in the state of Missouri recognized Hurst from his photo on the VIPD website’s “Most Wanted” page and contacted authorities, detectives said.

Hurst was arrested at about 10:45 p.m. Friday and charged with assault in the first degree, assault in the third degree and unauthorized use of a firearm during a crime.
