ICMC Hosts Annual Student Hall of Hope Awards Ceremony

May 13, 2009 – International Capital & Management Company (ICMC) will host the fifth annual Student Hall of Hope "Celebrate Life" Awards Ceremony from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, May 28, at Emancipation Garden. The ceremony honors the artistic talent and creativity of students from the St. Thomas public elementary and junior high schools. Steve Bonner, president and CEO of Cancer Treatment Centers of America, will be the keynote speaker. The Alfred Lockhart and Leonard Dober Elementary School choirs will lead the audience in the national anthem and the Virgin Islands march, and the EBO Steel Owls will entertain. Twelve schools and approximately 100 students are expected to participate. Each school will receive a trophy, and all the participants will receive art supplies and a certificate.
"Our client, CTCA, honors five year cancer survivors by celebrating their victories at the hospital's annual "Celebrate Life" event; we decided to use the theme to teach our youth the importance of celebrating life, overcoming challenges and defeating the odds. 2009 marks our fifth year of hosting the Student Hall of Hope and we're looking forward to more years to come" said Cornel Williams, president of ICMC.
"This year we've added arts and crafts, line dancing and creative skits to the program, as we continue to strive to engage and enlighten the students at this fun-filled event." said Karen Nelson-Hughes, executive assistant to the president and Student Hall of Hope project manager.
