CCT Will Present Comedy 'ART'

The Caribbean Community Theatre presents the comedy "ART" by French playwright Yasmina Reza, translated by Christopher Hampton. There will be six performances with the last two held at 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday, April 3 and 4. It has been directed by Tom Ziegler, and stars Charles Braslow, Fred Handleman and Bruce Spector.
"Art" explores the friendship of three guys who really shouldn't be friends. Serge is pompous. Ivan is neurotic. Marc is a seething with aggression. But these men are friends, for reasons that are subtle and ambiguous, like the whitish lines on the all-white painting that sends them over the brink.
'ART' won the Olivier Award in London, the Tony Award in New York, and has been translated into more than 30 languages. "…wildly funny, naughtily provocative…" – The New York Post. "…Reza is a fiendishly clever writer… 'ART' sounds like a marriage of Moliere and Woody Allen…" – Newsweek. "…classic comedy, period." – London Times.
All performances will be at the Caribbean Community Theatre, No. 18 Estate Orange Grove, Christiansted, St. Croix. Tickets will be sold at the door: $15 for adults; $8 for students. No reservations accepted; arrive early for best seating. No children under age 13 will be admitted.
